149: "Caught Stealing the Crows in the Seven Kingdoms"

This week's episode....
A very non-Darren-Aronofsky-ish Darren Aronofsky movie about a baseball fan who's caught up in a sticky situation with some Orthodox Jewish hitmen, russian thugs and a corrupt cop. You know...the usual! 
The Counting Crows ruled the 90s airwaves and now there's a documentary on HBO Max about the band it's frontman's mental health problems. We reminisce on their music and the period in our lives when they were huge.
Game of Thrones has a new spinoff called 'A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms' and it's way different from what you'd expect. Is that a good thing? Mmmmmaybe.

148: "One Predator Battle After Another"

This week:
It's been getting a lot of awards buzz but is Paul Thomas Anderson's "One Battle After Another" actually a good watch? We give you 2 reviews after another.
One of Moose's favorite movie monsters is back but this time he's...a good guy? "Predator: Badlands."
and finally, a historical moment in US history that certainly doesn't get talked about enough gets a narrative telling on Netflix. "Death By Lightning" is a limited series about the assassination of James Garfield as well as his assassin.

"Task". From the creator of 'Mare of Easttown'
The documentary about everyone's favorite 80s comedic actor who left us WAY too early.
A completely different documentary about a ruthless neighbor who's hate and paranoia cost someone their life.
"Slow Horses" is one of our favorite shows and it's latest season didn't disappoint. But, come one, only 6 episodes?! At least give us 8!

144: "The Unofficial James Gunn Episode"

Well, we didn't mean to do an episode covering only James Gunn projects but that's kind of how it shook out.
In this episode
Season 2 of Peacemaker. Why it's not quite as good as the first season but man, John Cena is really accessing his acting chops though!
'Superman (2025)'. Why is The Man of Steel getting his butt kicked the whole movie? And who thought casting Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor was a good idea? It's not without it's pluses but this move...meh.

142: "Smoke The Amateur Who is Untamed"

I honestly don't know what I'm doing with these episode titles. Sometimes I think I should just put the title of the shows/movies we're talking about and be done with it.
But what's the fun in that?
Anyway, this week....
"Smoke" goes into the world of arson investigation...with some twists!
A remake of a movie your parents never saw gets some cool kills. And, it's not too bad. We check out 'The Amateur.'
It's like 'Yellowstone' but without the cowboy boots, Kevin Costner and 'Sons of Anarchy' vibe. Our third show this week is 'Untamed' starring Eric 'Where Has He Been" Bana. Crikey!
